The Future of Surgical Robotics is Software-Defined – and Runs on RTI
Visit Booth 601 at DeviceTalks Boston to experience the data streaming software that’s at the heart of modern MedTech.
RTI Connext provides the communication backbone for next-gen surgical robotics, delivering secure, real-time connectivity that allows autonomous systems to think and act at scale. From remote telesurgery to AI-driven insights, Connext provides the critical data flows exactly where needed, enabling sophisticated systems to react and perform as designed.
Learn how RTI is teaming up with powerhouses such as NVIDIA® Holoscan to redefine what's possible in the OR. Whether you’re prototyping the next surgical robotic breakthrough or scaling to production, RTI experts will be on hand to discuss how a data-centric approach can streamline development, reduce project risk and accelerate time to market.

Demo: Telesurgery
Stop by to view an untethered experience for advanced telesurgery. This live demo showcases how a surgical console communicates with the rest of the system across the WAN using RTI's Real-Time WAN Transport. Using strict Quality of Service (QoS) and ultra-low latency, it allows a surgical console to orchestrate remote robotic movements across a WAN, maintaining a seamless, deterministic connection. This demo is based on the RTI MedTech Reference Architecture, the developers’ fast-start framework that provides a flexible data model, QoS, documentation, DDS entities, and security artifacts.

Intelligent Remote Surgery, Across the Operating Room and Across the World
Roll up your sleeves and experience the future of remote surgery in this teleoperation demo using haptics and Connext Real-Time WAN Transport. Created by MedAcuity and RTI, this demo allows attendees to assume the role of a surgeon, where they can remotely control a robotic arm using a high-fidelity haptic controller to experience the precision and responsiveness required for medical applications.
This demo, built by RTI and MedAcuity, uses RTI Connext for secure, ultra-low latency communication over long distances, while complying with medical-grade standards. By integrating with QNX’s real-time operating system, Connext ensures safe, deterministic performance for advanced medical robotics. This hands-on experience highlights how RTI empowers the future of remote surgery.
