Leading Japanese Technology Provider to Market, Service and Support RTI Connext Platform In The Automotive Sector
SUNNYVALE, Calif. – April 3, 2026 – Macnica Corporation, a leading technology services and solutions provider based in Japan, announced today that it has signed a domestic distributor agreement with Real-Time Innovations (RTI), a global technology leader in the field of real-time data streaming technology. Macnica will market, service and support RTI Connext® and Connext Drive, based on the Data Distribution (DDS™) standard, in Japan. Connext enables real-time performance, high reliability, safety, and scalability, and is used as a large-scale data communications infrastructure for next-generation in-vehicle systems for SDVs, autonomous driving, and ADAS. Macnica will help automotive manufacturers and other companies to accelerate the development of next-generation mobility through RTI software and its unique engineering support and fulfillment capabilities.
Challenges
Conventional in-vehicle development follows a waterfall development model that strongly relies on specific hardware, which limits improvements in development efficiency and software scalability. Automotive manufacturers and other developers of advanced systems must consider future market needs under uncertain conditions when incorporating new application functions.
With the advancement of ADAS and autonomous driving functions, in-vehicle systems must process huge amounts of data in real time that streams from sensors, ECUs, and high-performance compute platforms. In addition to difficulties achieving low-latency communication and flexibly adding functions, traditional in-vehicle architectures also face challenges in responding to OTA updates and increasingly complex safety standards (ISO 26262) after mass production.
SDV Development and the Role of RTI in the Mobility Domain
RTI is a highly-reliable DDS vendor with more than 30 years of experience in market introduction and deployment in more than 2 million mass-produced vehicles, and a share of over 70% of the global DDS market. RTI software is used around the world as a foundation supporting complex applications, including automotive (passenger cars, commercial vehicles, and heavy construction equipment), medical robots, rail roads, energy production defense systems, and smart cities.
Connext is a data connectivity platform that decouples software and hardware components, greatly improving the expandability and reusability of software assets, while QoS and security functions reduce development costs, shorten development time, and enable continuous OTA updates, thereby enhancing market competitiveness.
RTI and Macnica 's unique total support for the mobility space
As a technology company, Macnica has been involved in the provision and development support of software solutions for the semiconductor and automotive markets. Macnica provides integrated support from the initial evaluation to the customer implementation of RTI products. Connext can be used for the following applications:
- Evolution of automotive E/E architecture (Shift to zonal and central architectures)
- SDV development
- Vehicle OS development
Both technologies will transform the automotive E/E architecture standard, making it easier to add and change onboard software even after the vehicle is sold. As a result, manufacturers can continuously increase the commercial value of a vehicle through its lifetime.
