Please use the following process to download and install RTI Connext DDS.

The installation files for both the RTI Connext DDS 5.3.1 evaluation and the RTI Security Plugins are provided in a single compressed file (tar.gz for Linux and OS X systems, zip for Windows systems). Copy the archive file to a temporary directory and extract it to that location.

The archive should decompress into the following files:

    • rti_connext_dds-5.3.1-eval-.[exe/run/dmg]*
    • rti_security_plugins-5.3.1-eval-.rtipkg
    • openssl-1.0.2n-5.3.1-host-.rtipkg
    • openssl-1.0.2n-target-.[tar.gz/zip]*

* file extension depends on the platform type

  1. Install the host development tools and platform target libraries by executing the host install application.

    On Windows systems - rti_connext_dds-5.3.1-eval-<Windows_platform_type>.exe

    On Linux systems - rti_connext_dds-5.3.1-eval-<Linux_platform_type>.run

    On OS X systems - rti_connext_dds-5.3.1-eval-<OS_X_platform_type>.dmg

  2. After installation is complete, start the RTI Connext Launcher utility and set the license file location on the “Installation” tab.

Upon completion of this step, you can evaluate Connext DDS Professional or continue to install the RTI Security Plugins.

  3. Install the RTI Security Plugins package using the “RTI Package Installer” utility, also located on the Installation tab.

    All Platforms: rti_security_plugins-5.3.1-eval-<platform_type>.rtipkg

After installation, you can find the header files and security libraries under the include/ndds/security and lib/<target_architecture> directories.

  4. Install the OpenSSL host package using the "RTI Package Installer" utility.

    All Platforms: openssl-1.0.2n-5.3.1-host-<platform_type>.rtipkg

  5. Extract the OpenSSL target package to your host machine. The location is up to you, but common options include:

    • /local/rti

    • <Connext_Install_Dir>/

    • c:\rti
