Open Source Robotics Foundation, Inc. (OSRF) is an independent non-profit R&D company. The mission of Open Robotics is to support the development, distribution, and adoption of open software and hardware for use in robotics research, education, and product development.

OSRF is the developer of the Robot Operating System (ROS) open source project. ROS is a flexible development framework for building modern robot software. It offers a collection of tools, libraries and conventions that aim to simplify the task of creating complex and robust robot behavior across a wide variety of robotic platforms.
