RTI is pleased to announce the production release of Connext TSS 4.2.0 based on the FACE® Technical Standard, Edition 3.2. In addition to providing a foundation for future avionics development, this release provides critical architectural improvements designed to support the Modular Open Systems Approach (MOSA) and Sensor Open Standards Architecture (SOSA™) standards, which are increasingly central to the development of modern ground vehicles.
Connext TSS 4.2.0 builds on the strength and versatility of previous releases. These enhancements simplify development and improve the overall experience working with the complex data types required by modern data models.
FACE is designed to support multiple vendors, and the Transport Protocol Module (TPM) capability of the TSS standardizes the bridge which connects them. Connext TSS’ TPM capability has been expanded to support XML configuration.
Thread safety has also been updated. While customers can implement thread safety themselves, Connext TSS now includes built-in thread safety to save time and effort, while supporting a completely multi-threaded environment. In addition, increased code coverage of unit and integration tests adds to the robustness of our solution for avionics customers’ development teams.
The Connext TSS 4.2.0 release also expands our standard platform support. While source code is provided that enables customers to create their own ports, many OSS-compliant operating systems are already included for heightened efficiency. This type of expanded out-of-the-box platform support makes it easier for customers to support a wide range of deployment environments. This release expands support for the following operating systems:
The Connext TSS 4.2.0 release reinforces RTI’s commitment to advancing the modular open systems community. With a clear path to production, Connext TSS empowers engineers to build scalable, interoperable, and efficient systems for the future.
