To successfully achieve this, Modeling, Simulation and Training (MS&T) systems require a modern field training model that provides rapidly-deployable, secure simulated environments. They need to be assembled and reconfigured in a quick, ad-hoc manner from ready-made, commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) components with response times closely matched to real-world scenarios. However, to obtain this with distributed components, each with its own set of disparate technologies can prove challenging.
This paper describes how a standards-based communications framework can provide the necessary framework for modern warfare training. It uses a multi-level secure (MLS) data architecture to address the challenges of integrating a wide range of MS&T systems, resulting in accelerated creation and
delivery of impactful training simulations.
