When most people think of a MOSA strategy for military aviation platforms, the Future Airborne Capability Environment (FACE) Technical Standard usually comes to mind first. FACE, which enables the reuse of software elements across multiple avionics platforms, is one important tool in the MOSA aviation approach. Going even further, considerations under MOSA must all be made for navigation, security, weapons systems, and interoperability with other standards and between manned and unmanned platforms.
This session details not only the advantages that FACE brings to military avionics applications, but also how MOSA strategies can be applied throughout military aircraft development and procurement
