Government Sponsored Research

SBIR, STTR, BAA and CRADA Collaboration Opportunities

RTI has a proven track record winning and fulfilling advanced multi-year government contracts. We have the ability to either lead the contract bid process or to provide products and services to partners leading the process.

Additionally, RTI is engaged in numerous research initiatives. We can provide you with the opportunity to help guide research activities and to gain access to innovative technologies ahead of the crowd.

Winning Government Contracts with RTI

RTI is the ideal partner for organizations bidding on and fulfilling large-scale government contracts. Our experience with winning contracts, our proven standards-based products, and our ability to be funded through small business set-asides present a competitive edge to those we partner with.

Advantages of partnering with RTI include:

  • Experience in demonstrations, prototypes, proof of concepts - let us help you win the bid
  • Extensive proven implementation experience - many projects to prove our fulfillment capabilities
  • Established market leader in DDS; credibility and name recognition in government - no need to justify your choice of vendor
  • Small business set-asides - RTI can be funded by small business set-aside funding that might not otherwise be accessible by your organization
  • US-person team - our team is made up of US citizens or legal workers in US, many with security clearances

Small Business Innovative Research (SBIR)

RTI has several Small Business Innovative Research (SBIR) efforts underway that may be of interest to your organization. Likewise, your organization may have laboratory and testing capabilities that may help transition these SBIR efforts either from Phase I to Phase II, or from Phase II to Phase III/CPP.

Additionally, a large Prime Contractor endorsement is an important component in the overall assessment done by DoD to validate the commercial potential of an innovative technology, leading to further R&D and acquisition opportunities.

A large Prime Contactor directly benefits from this collaboration in several ways. You can:

  • Provide early input on research activities, ensuring that work is aligned with either your corporate or your customer’s Program of Record (POR) technological requirements
  • Receive early access to the innovative technologies developed under the SBIR
  • Be a subcontractor to RTI by providing engineering services and access to your capital infrastructure (typically network laboratory, test, or integration facilities)
  • Demonstrate support for supplier diversity through small business Phase III contracts
  • Enjoy possible DoD sole-source contract benefits by using SBIR-developed technology

RTI has a lengthy history in research and development, with many examples of innovative research evolving into commercially available products and features.

We are currently leading a number of Small Business Innovative Research (SBIR) projects and are interested in partners for existing and future SBIR contracts.

"Much of RTI's early success is from the diversity of SBIR awards. This is a true testament to RTI's innovative technology and expertise in real-time data-distribution technologies and advanced tool development. SBIR funds the critical start-up and development stages and encourages the commercialization of these technologies, which in turn stimulates the U.S. economy."
