RTI Connext DDS delivers a rich set of security capabilities to developers of Industrial IoT systems that require robust, industry-grade, data-in-motion protection. These capabilities include authentication, encryption, access control and logging. Secure multicast support enables efficient and scalable distribution of data to many subscribers. Performance is also optimized by fine-grained control over the level of security applied to each data flow. The system can be configured for encryption or just message authentication as required. These capabilities are implemented based on the open, widely adopted Data Distribution Service (DDS) standard.
RTI DDS Toolkit for LabVIEW is for developers who use National Instruments LabVIEW. This powerful toolkit saves development time and resources. It provides a scalable software communications framework based on an industry-leading standard. The add-on allows the distribution of real-time data between multiple LabVIEW applications as well as between LabVIEW and any other applications, such as those written in C, C++, C# and Java. Using the LabVIEW toolkit helps developers reliably and effortlessly scale systems to hundreds or even thousands of applications distributed across local- and wide-area networks.
RTI Queuing Service enhances standard point-to-point messaging capabilities of Connext DDS and takes distributed data processing to a new level of scalability with minimal end-to-end latency. The Queuing Service brokers interactions between message producers (DDS Data Writers) and consumers (DDS Data Readers), delivering each message (DDS sample) to only one consumer. This functionality helps balance workloads by distributing jobs across a pool of processors to address application-to-application data exchange at both the network edge and in the cloud.
The Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) demands an innovative data integration approach. Legacy architectures and connectivity technologies simply cannot cope with the diversity of modern applications, volume of data and pace of change it requires. RTI Database Integration Service helps developers of real-time applications overcome these challenges. The next-generation connectivity approach enables IIoT data to be stored in existing relational database management systems (RDBMS) and allows database updates in real time.
RTI Limited-Bandwidth Plug-ins address challenges of constrained network communication. They are designed to overcome situations where the network is constrained by low or limited bandwidth, intermittent connections or other network-related issues. There are a number of factors that can constrain network communication, for example:
- Low bandwidth, e.g., HF radio links with speeds as low as 1200 baud
- High signal latency, e.g., satellite links with round-trip latency measured on the order of seconds
- Limited bandwidth, e.g., when otherwise adequate bandwidth is constrained during peak load times
With RTI Ada Language Support for Connext DDS, Ada developers can leverage the DDS standard to build complex applications with real-time response and data availability across large-scale distributed systems. Ada Language Binding makes it possible to develop and support applications in heterogeneous COTS-based environments, while providing a straightforward way to integrate legacy code with newly developed systems.
