RTI Data Distribution Service Provides Up To 25x Higher Performance than JMS These benchmark results illustrate some of the raw performance advantages provided by RTI Data Distribution Service. In practice, real-world applications can achieve even higher performance, and with less overhead, by taking advantage of the extensive Quality of Service (QoS) and other controls supported by RTI. These benchmarks compare RTI Data Distribution Service 4.1d to a popular Java Message Service (JMS) solution that is generaly considered to be one of the higher performance implementations. Benchmarks were performed over Gigabit Ethernet between 2.0 GHz Opteron PCs running Linux. A single publishing application was run on one node and a single subscribing application was run on the other. Benchmarks are shown through 2,048 byte messages because RTI Data Distribution Service is so efficient that it can saturate the network with messages larger than this (and with even smaller message sizes if they are aggregated into larger transport-level messages).
