Abstract:
To address the communication needs of distributed applications, a new specification is available called "Data Distribution Service for Real-Time Systems" (DDS). Many different types of distributed applications can use the DDS infrastructure as the backbone for their data communications. This paper presents an overview of distributed applications, describes DDS specification and its components, and discusses how DDS can help developers design distributed applications.
