News Releases Real-Time Innovations Announces Support for TornadoFor immediate release. --- Sunnyvale, California, September 11, 1995 - Real-Time Innovations, Inc. (RTI) today announced support for Wind River Systems' new Tornado development environment. The premier real-time data monitor and profiling tool, StethoScope, is the first RTI product available for Tornado. Future support will include RTI's Network Data Delivery Service (NDDS), ControlShell CASE environment and the RTILib debugging and memory tool suite. StethoScope allows embedded system developers using Tornado to watch their program variables evolve in real time and store them for later processing. It is an on-line tool that can gather dynamic time histories without stopping or significantly slowing the real-time process' execution flow. The data is presented to the user live, while the system is running. By providing developers a "window" into the system for analyzing the program and interactions with the real world, StethoScope is a powerful diagnostic tool for any real-time embedded application including controls, data acquisition, and ... Tornado is a next-generation open and extensible cross-development environment for building embedded applications. It offers a plug-and-play framework for easy integration of third party development tools like StethoScope. Tornado gives developers a scalable development environment that can be used with any embedded system - regardless of target memory or I/O constraints. It consists of three highly integrated components: the Tornado suite of tools, the VxWorks run-time system, and a full range of communications software options such as Ethernet, serial line, ICE or ROM emulator for the target connection to the host. RTI provides quality software productivity tools to the rapidly-growing real-time systems community, specializing in VxWorks. RTI's products include an advanced CASE environment for complex real-time applications called ControlShell, a truly real-time distributed networking package called NDDS (the Network Data Delivery Service), the popular real-time data monitor StethoScope, and a suite of memory and debugging tools called RTILib. StethoScope for Tornado will be available with the first Tornado shipment and is priced at $3000 for a single-user license. |
