RTI's Distributed Data-Critical Platform Selected by Matlock Capital Management for Options Trading Infrastructure

SAN FRANCISCO, CA–March 7, 2005
-Matlock Capital Management LLC, a proprietary equity options trading firm focused on building value through technology and financial engineering innovation, announced today that Real-Time Innovations’ (RTI’s) NDDS open-architecture, data-critical platform has been selected as the networking infrastructure for the company’s mission-critical systems.

Matlock’s real-time trading systems include price-feed servers that filter and rebroadcast market data, components that compute implied and forecasted options volatility, a quoting system that computes Matlock’s bid and ask prices for each security the company trades, and a routing and execution system for sending and managing orders in the market.

“Being able to design a product around a scaleable, high-performance, standards-based software platform has a lot of appeal, especially in time-critical applications such as trading. Not only does NDDS guarantee deterministic delivery, but also publishes statistics for NDDS’ expected performance at various transfer rates, a deciding factor in making our decision to use NDDS,” stated Steven Crutchfield, director of Operations for Matlock.

Until now, data distribution in real time has been extremely complex and cumbersome, with costly and unpredictable results. RTI’s proven data-critical platform allows multiple sources of event-driven, time-critical data to connect in real time and seamlessly ties complex networks of independent nodes into a logical—and manageable—whole.

RTI has led the way in defining the industry-standard model for real-time networking. During the time when RTI developed its market-leading NDDS technology, it had the pivotal role in establishing DDS as the common standard (under the Object Management Group) that is now internationally recognized in industrial and defense applications.

The combination of rich publish-subscribe NDDS middleware with new, targeted tools for distributed system visualization, analysis and real-time debugging allows developers to do what they do best: focus on their own value-add. The NDDS integrated platform simplifies design, eases development and improves the quality and performance of real-time distributed embedded systems for simulation, telecommunications, industrial automation, medical equipment, factory automation and avionics applications.

About RTI
Real-Time Innovations, Inc. (RTI, www.rti.com ) the expert in real-time information networking, leads the industry with high performance standards-based software solutions for data-critical applications. Its products and consulting services provide the infrastructure for national railways, air traffic control, traffic monitoring, mission-critical combat systems, financial transaction processing, and industrial automation. RTI's flagship product, NDDS, is middleware based on the Object Management Group's (OMG) Data Distribution Service (DDS). NDDS provides the essential foundation for real-time communication in a networked system and enables a new class of embedded to enterprise (e2E) applications. Raytheon, Nikon, Omron, Harmonic, Applied Materials, Schneider Automation, Boeing, Lockheed Martin and the US Military rely on RTI technology for their real-time, data-centric, distributed applications. Headquartered in the heart of Silicon Valley since 1991, RTI is a privately held company.
