Real-Time Innovations, TimesTen and 4TEC
Host Seminar on Open Standards Approach to Developing Data-Critical Networked Applications

WHAT:
Free technology seminars focused on empowering embedded developers with skills for developing open-standard, data-critical networking applications. Session topics will include:

- Networking Middleware for Real-Time Publish-Subscribe Data
- Fast Data Storage and Retrieval
- Distributed Data Management
- Embedded to Enterprise (e2E) Data Architecture

WHO:
A combined effort by Real-Time Innovations, Inc. (RTI), the expert in real-time information networking; TimesTen, Inc., the provider of real-time data management solutions; and 4TEC, provider of integrated software-infrastructure solutions and expertise in distributed real-time information management.

WHEN AND WHERE:

HOW TO REGISTER:
Click on the link for the seminar you wish to attend or you can register by calling Debbie Dasker at 408-200-4746.

WHY:
One of the most versatile technologies available for the efficient delivery of time-critical data in a networked application is real-time publish-subscribe communications. However, delivering data on time solves only part of the problem. Many data-critical applications also need a way to store and retrieve data efficiently. To address both data delivery and storage/retrieval requirements, RTI has combined open architecture real-time publish-subscribe middleware with a relational database management system (RDBMS). This innovative, standards-based solution allows publish/subscribe data to be transparently accessed through a RDBMS. It provides a means to directly integrate real-time embedded systems with standard enterprise SQL databases and web services, enabling a true embedded to Enterprise (e2E) data architecture.

SESSION DETAILS:

Networking Middleware for Real-Time Pub-Sub Data
The new DDS standard is fundamentally changing the way large, complex, heterogeneous systems are being architected. This session will cover the benefits and applications of the DDS standard, use cases, designs and the appropriate use of data-centric and object-centric methodologies.

Fast Data Storage and Retrieval
Performance-critical applications require fast data storage and retrieval.
This session will introduce TimesTen/DataServer, the leading real-time database system. TimesTen/DataServer is a highly efficient, standards-compliant data management solution that ensures applications are instantly responsive, highly scalable and continuously available.

Distributed Data Management
Some applications require high-performance access to data from multiple distributed locations. 4TEC’s RTI Distributed Data Management uses DDS to synchronize multiple distributed database instances while detecting and resolving conflicts. This session will illustrate how to store, retrieve and distribute fast-changing data in dynamic networked environments.

An embedded to Enterprise (e2E) Data Architecture
Real-time applications using DDS for data dissemination also need to communicate with the outside world through web services. DDS distributed applications will need to interact with web services such as XML/SOAP, UDDI Directory Services and Dynamic ASP. This portion of the seminar will discuss the compatibilities between DDS and web services along with potential ramifications for implementing these bridges.
